Take Some Time | Wellbeing with Jet 2*

Hey friends,

I've been wanting to write this post for a while now but ironically, I've not had the time! But nevertheless, Winter is officially upon us (insert Game of Thrones gif featuring John Snow covered in, well, snow...) The days are getting shorter, the evenings darker, and the nights colder. It's easy to just want to cuddle up into a little ball and hide away from it all. But it's SO important to take some time off to de-stress and relax.

I was kindly sent a wellness hamper from the lovely team at Jet 2, so I thought I'd show you what I received whilst giving you some tips on how to look after numero uno. Sound good? Good.

Get Colourful
I don't know about you, but I LOVED colouring books as a little kid. There was just something so pleasing to me about it all looking so neat and beautiful when it was finished; so I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I'm beyond happy that colouring books are in fashion again. This one is full of fabulous travel destinations, and I've really enjoyed de-stressing and switching off with this book!

Scents and Sensibility
It might be a blogger cliché, but there's nothing better than lighting a candle when you want to feel all warm and cosy. I honestly think the scent of an earthy candle really does lift my mood! This one by St Eval is no exception; the mixture of lavender and ylang ylang is so soothing and I've loved lighting it in the evenings when I'm home from work, as it fills my room with such a gorgeous smell, and I honestly find it so relaxing. What's your go-to scent for these winter months?

Easy Listening
It's common knowledge that music can lift your mood. For some people it might be beautiful orchestral music, others it could be Disney songs and musicals, (guilty as charged); but regardless of your preference listening to music is a fab way to zone out and unwind. These clever little speakers came in so handy when I went to Paris last month with my friend Cat, cause they're so diddy yet pack a punch in the sound department!

And breathe...
I've talked on the blog before about how amazing yoga and meditation is for your body, (Read that here) and I do still stand by that statement. This amazing book by Jennifer J. Ellinghaus has been such an interesting read, and has taught me so much about yoga and its benefits. There's a stretch, position or pose that'll help with everything; from hangovers to sore limbs to feeling low. It's honestly changed my morning routine, I'll try and do some yoga or meditation first thing in the morning on this comfy Core Balance mat, and I find it really stretches out my muscles and stops me from feeling so groggy first thing.

Mask Up!
Making time to give your skin a little TLC is so important, and there's no easier way than throwing on a face mask that does just that. Sheet masks are such a fab option as they're easy to store and carry around, plus there are so many different types on the market, there's bound to be one that can help with your skin concern - be it radiance, hydration, anti-shine or blemish control. These little guys from Tonymoly are super cute to look at but also really great masks too! My fave was the Tomato Mask Sheet Radiance, as it really gave me a nice healthy glow, and my skin felt so supple after!

Treat Yo Self
There's nothing wrong with indulging a little when you're feeling crappy. At the end of the day, ingredients contained in treat foods DO cause the body to release endorphins so they actually do make you happier! The Jet 2 team kindly sent me some yummy vegan goodies for when I get hangry (which happens a lot FYI). They're all delish, but those Vegan Bakery vanilla biscuits are on another level! You really should try these asap. #SorryNotSorry if you finish the pack very quickly like I did...

Plan Your Getaway
If all else fails, book yourself a holiday, that is guaranteed to boost your mood. Jet 2 Holidays have some amazing packages on their website, and they've recently introduced loads of new destinations that they now fly to! (I'm currently browsing their website ahead of my next trip!)

I hope this post has given you a little inspiration for what to do when you're feeling a little low, or tired, or just need to unwind a little! What do you do when you want to chill out? And finally, who's planning a holiday soon?

Thanks for reading your Dose of Wellbeing

  1. I haven't picked up a colouring book since I was a child, despite the popularity of adults doing them at the moment. It's definitely something I should try, I can imagine it being quite therapeutic.

  2. I like the sketch of Barcelona so much. I can even say that it is better not to color it. I would hang this picture on my wall and get pleasure from it.
