Be Our Guest! | Latest in Beauty Launch*

Hey cuties!

If you know me (like at all) then you know that before anything else I am a Disney geek. I probably didn't have much choice in it either; step into my home and you'll see rooms full of Disney merchandise, not to mention thousands (I jest) of Disney movies in our DVD cabinets. You'll often find me practising for my life-long dream of being a princess by belting out songs from my favourite film of all time, Beauty and the Beast. Most years I'm also lucky enough to pay the Big Mouse himself a visit at Walt Disney World - AKA The Happiest Place on Earth.

Waffling aside (mmm waffles!) the point I'm trying to make is that I love Disney, so when Latest in Beauty contacted me to say that they were collaborating with Disney on Beauty and the Beast themed boxes - to say I was excited would be the understatement of the century. In my reply to the LIB team, I cut down the number of exclamation points from thirty down to three (lol) and then calmly waited for more information.

I received an invitation sealed with a wax rose, which I thought was the cutest touch ever - shout out to Emma Louise Layla who personally stamped each one and burnt herself a million times in the process!! - for the launch event of the boxes the following week at The Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge. Needless to say I was mega nervous and excited and I began frantically searching through Twitter to find someone else attending so they could help me decide what on earth to wear! Thankfully the angel that is Georgia came to the rescue and we discusses outfits before agreeing to meet outside the venue with Beth.

Fast forward to event day and we arrived at the beautiful Lanesborough and were greeted with glasses of Tattinger upon entrance (great start right?) before mingling with other bloggers and the lovely ladies from the Latest in Beauty team. L'Occitane were on hand (ignore the pun) to give hand and arm massages, which were so relaxing, and nails were also being painted however there wasn't enough time to get mine done in the end. I think we were all so busy chatting - and taking group selfies in the bathroom - that we didn't realise what the time was! There were some beautifully presented canapés going round the room however most of them looked very meaty so I passed on those and stuck to the macaroons and champers...

We all then spent a fair bit of time oohing and aahing over the beautiful enchanted rose in it's display cabinet. (I can neither confirm or deny whether it was the actual one from the film, so you'll have to decide that for yourselves)

Look how pretty!?!

As part of Latest in Beauty's collaboration with Disney's Beauty and the Beast, two limited edition boxes were created, both retailing at £20 and full of gorgeous French skincare and grooming products. The 'Beast Box' for the men, contained male grooming products worth £100, but the most exciting one (in my blatantly biased opinion) was the 'Beauty Box'. It featured some luxury beauty products from Oribe, L'Occitane, Gatineau, Burts Bees and more, and is worth £80! If they are still available, I would highly recommend you get your hands on one, for the beautiful box alone (which has the appearance of a hardback book that Belle herself would be proud of!) Latest in Beauty kindly gifted us the 'Beauty Box', which they absolutely didn't have to do after treating us to such a fab event, but it was definitely the cherry on top of the cake.

I'm already loving the Gatineau Radiance Enhancing Gommage, which is essentially a chemical exfoliator (i.e. no skin scrubbing required) with AHA and Vitamin C as its active ingredients, so it's great for those that suffer from acne scarring or hyperpigmentation, plus it smells glorious. The Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo is also a new favourite of mine. It had been on my wishlist for a long time, but at £36 I just couldn't justify it, however I can't deny how easily it absorbs up oils without leaving a powdery residue. The Burts Bees Lipstick is also really moisturising but nicely pigmented, and the shade I recieved, Blush Basin is a beautiful earthy nude-pink. I used the rose-adorned gold compact mirror to apply my lippie, which I thought was a really nice nod to the film! Overall I was really impressed with the box and will definitely be subscribing to Latest in Beauty ASAP!

Huge mention has to go to the SQUAD that was formed at the event. There are rumours of us starting a girl band and some are even referring to us as Sixth Harmony, but we like to call ourselves the champagne babies. From left to right we are: Me (obvs), Beth, Mel, Alicia, Sarah & Georgia.

After lots of mingling, one too many macaroons and far far far too much champagne, we all said our goodbyes and headed home. Thank you so much to Latest in Beauty for including me in such an amazing launch, and I can't wait for the next one!

Thanks for reading your Dose of LiB

Disclaimer: I was invited to the launch event and gifted the Beauty box by Latest in Beauty but as always all thoughts and words are my own - despite the copious glasses of champagne consumed that night. If you are a brand interested in collaborating with me, contact me at sales@izzymariehill.com

  16. Beauty and the Beast is the 30th animated movie made by Walt Disney Studio. Based on the time-honored French fairytale made popular by Madame Beaumont's story published in 1756, the film premiered at Disney's El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles in 1991. Beauty and the Beast is still one of the best known and beloved films in the Disney canon.
