Boo to you!

"In girl world Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it." - Wise words from Cady Heron
I love Halloween, and every year try to go to as many Halloween-themed events as possible because that means I get to be really creative and weird with makeup and facepaint.

This year I'm at an all day event at Nottingham Racecourse, put on by 'Detonate'. So my friends and I are going all out. I believe we have a skeleton, two day of the dead girls, a bloody mermaid and a black widow! I'll be updating my Instagram over the weekend so follow me on there! - Shameless plug, #SorryNotSorry) - as this post will obviously be up before Saturday.

Shame on You!

I've been meaning to write a blog post on 'Body Shaming' for a while, cause it's an issue that really rubs me up the wrong way.

It's a girl eat girl world.

I think the most frustrating thing about body shaming is that the majority of the time, women are the culprits. I mean, we already have the media industry throwing unrealistic and unachievable standards in our faces, of how small your waist should be, and how your skin should glow like unicorn poop with no makeup; so WHY are we turning on each other? It's nice to be nice.

Well said Gretchen.

Scentsational

I'm going to start this post with a little disclaimer:

If you are from the UK and are offended by images of Bath and Body Works candles then look away now...

But seriously, why don't we have a Bath and Body Works in England? *cries*

I like candles as much as the next girl, but up until recently, have never actually bought one for myself, usually opting instead to spend my money on makeup and clothes (shocker!). I've always wanted to like Yankee Candles but they don't have a shop near me, and anywhere that does stock their candles only seems to have the scents that I find a little too sickly-sweet. Anyone else? And also big candles are such a commitment, that I wouldn't dare order them online!

So when I was on holiday in Florida, I went to a Bath and Body Works outlet that had their biggest, 3 wick candles for $12 instead of $22 so naturally I bought twenty!!!! (Not really, I just got two, my suitcase wouldn't have fit any more sadly - Damn you Virgin Airlines baggage restrictions)

The two I bought are Citron Cedarwood from their 'Cork and Vine' collection, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from their Autumn/Halloween collection.

FALL On Your Face!

Before you read the title and get all confused, no I'm not telling you all to fall on your face, I was trying to be witty and come up with a punny title for this post on my FAVOURITE makeup for Autumn. But there we go.

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to any of you that I, Izzy am a makeup hoarder. I sound like I should be at an Addicts Anonymous meeting with that last sentence...

Anyway, I recently went to Florida with my family and bought a few beauty products I'd had my eye on - AKA anything from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I also used my Boots points back in the UK on a couple of bits from Maybelline.

So here are my faves:

When Life Gives You (Love and) Lemons

I along with 99.9% of the female population, am a sucker for pretty lingerie. Especially the beautifully intricate sets from For Love and Lemons.

Spoiler Alert: There's a discount code if you make it to the end of this post!!

I recently came across Jeanne Pompadour, a UK lingerie boutique with the most beautiful selection of branded pieces from For Love and Lemons, Cheek Frills, Underprotection and Araks. They announced a competition on their Instagram account last month, for a chance to win any bra and pants set, so naturally I HAD to enter!
