JuiceToU Blac Charcoal Cleanse - Review*

I've been wanting to do a cleanse for a while now, especially around this time of year, when the weather is dreary and all of those Winter carbs are causing the dreaded pre-Christmas bloat.
Activated Charcoal has been the latest buzzword - or buzzwords if we're being technical - on everybody's lips, praised for its many benefits, which I'll explain shortly.

Dear 14 Year Old Me...

Being the ripe old age of 22, I'd like to think I've learnt a few things since my early teenage years. Now this ranges from boys/best-friend troubles to horrific makeup mishaps so I've covered a few topics, but if you find something I've not mentioned, please leave a comment below!

Oh the nostalgia

Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Palette - Review & Swatches

Makeup Revolution has gradually been building up a following this past year on the blogosphere, and for good reason! Their products, particularly their eyeshadows, are great quality and incredibly pigmented (so I've heard), and have affordable price points. So, being the makeup addict that I am, naturally I had to see for myself.

November Lust List & Christmas Gift Guide

So I have eyes bigger than my stomach when it comes to beauty products (actually food too), i.e. I want EVERYTHING, regardless of whether I have the money for it or not. *Crying face*

In an attempt to stop spending I'm going to make a beauty/fashion wishlist every month on my blog, of all the things I'm lusting after. (Mind you, I'll probably end up giving into a fair few of them but at least I'm trying.)

This month's lust list is also a Christmas gift guide for any makeup lover, like myself, so hopefully a few of you might find it useful when doing your Christmas shopping for friends, even if you do end up keeping the presents for yourself... (We've all done it, I'm not judging).

Some of the items are more general, but I'll give a couple of examples in those cases.

Boo to you!

"In girl world Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it." - Wise words from Cady Heron
I love Halloween, and every year try to go to as many Halloween-themed events as possible because that means I get to be really creative and weird with makeup and facepaint.

This year I'm at an all day event at Nottingham Racecourse, put on by 'Detonate'. So my friends and I are going all out. I believe we have a skeleton, two day of the dead girls, a bloody mermaid and a black widow! I'll be updating my Instagram over the weekend so follow me on there! - Shameless plug, #SorryNotSorry) - as this post will obviously be up before Saturday.

Shame on You!

I've been meaning to write a blog post on 'Body Shaming' for a while, cause it's an issue that really rubs me up the wrong way.

It's a girl eat girl world.

I think the most frustrating thing about body shaming is that the majority of the time, women are the culprits. I mean, we already have the media industry throwing unrealistic and unachievable standards in our faces, of how small your waist should be, and how your skin should glow like unicorn poop with no makeup; so WHY are we turning on each other? It's nice to be nice.

Well said Gretchen.

Scentsational

I'm going to start this post with a little disclaimer:

If you are from the UK and are offended by images of Bath and Body Works candles then look away now...

But seriously, why don't we have a Bath and Body Works in England? *cries*

I like candles as much as the next girl, but up until recently, have never actually bought one for myself, usually opting instead to spend my money on makeup and clothes (shocker!). I've always wanted to like Yankee Candles but they don't have a shop near me, and anywhere that does stock their candles only seems to have the scents that I find a little too sickly-sweet. Anyone else? And also big candles are such a commitment, that I wouldn't dare order them online!

So when I was on holiday in Florida, I went to a Bath and Body Works outlet that had their biggest, 3 wick candles for $12 instead of $22 so naturally I bought twenty!!!! (Not really, I just got two, my suitcase wouldn't have fit any more sadly - Damn you Virgin Airlines baggage restrictions)

The two I bought are Citron Cedarwood from their 'Cork and Vine' collection, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from their Autumn/Halloween collection.

FALL On Your Face!

Before you read the title and get all confused, no I'm not telling you all to fall on your face, I was trying to be witty and come up with a punny title for this post on my FAVOURITE makeup for Autumn. But there we go.

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to any of you that I, Izzy am a makeup hoarder. I sound like I should be at an Addicts Anonymous meeting with that last sentence...

Anyway, I recently went to Florida with my family and bought a few beauty products I'd had my eye on - AKA anything from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I also used my Boots points back in the UK on a couple of bits from Maybelline.

So here are my faves:

When Life Gives You (Love and) Lemons

I along with 99.9% of the female population, am a sucker for pretty lingerie. Especially the beautifully intricate sets from For Love and Lemons.

Spoiler Alert: There's a discount code if you make it to the end of this post!!

I recently came across Jeanne Pompadour, a UK lingerie boutique with the most beautiful selection of branded pieces from For Love and Lemons, Cheek Frills, Underprotection and Araks. They announced a competition on their Instagram account last month, for a chance to win any bra and pants set, so naturally I HAD to enter!

The Post-Uni Blues

Congratulations, you graduated from university!!

Now throw those hat-thingies, or mortarboards if we're being technical, into the air and give yourself a massive pat on the back! (Not at the same time though silly)

SUEDE a Minute!

Ok girls, I think it's finally time to admit summer is over. *cries* But on the bright side there are some really cute AW15 trends hitting the high street, my favourite being suede.

Soooooo, here are a few suede pieces I'll be wearing over the next few months!

A Dose Of... Me

Hey there!

If you're reading this then I guess it means I finally decided to start a blog. I'm Izzy, a 22 year old Journalism graduate with a slight obsession for all things fashion, music, makeup and fitness. Oh and tea. I LOVE tea.

I first started scribbling down ideas about blogging in my notepad, after binge watching the entirety of Gossip Girl this past summer (A great use of my time I know, and it was even better the second time around, #ChuckAndBlaireForLife).

I began brain-storming with my super chic and oh-so fashionable Blood Donor pen, which, I'm not quite sure how I came across as I have never donated blood before. (It's not that I wouldn't, it's that I have Spiderman blood. But I'll get on to that later.)

I called my blog 'A Dose of Chatter', because I can talk the hind legs off a donkey. Not literally... I really don't know how that phrase came about to be honest. I mean did someone really bore a donkey SO much that it severed itself from its own back legs to run away from the incessant chat?!

Anyway, I think I've more than proven my point about my ability to ramble.

So... if you've made it to the end of this then thank you, (insert clapping emoji here) and I guess I'll see you soon for my next, hopefully more specific, blog post.
